Indenture bet Henry Hartsfield & Sherwood Davis 10 Oct 1803 Oglethorpe Co, GA

This Indenture made this tenth day of October in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred & three between Henry Hartsfield of the State of
Georgia & County of Oglethorpe of the one part & Sherwood Davis of the same
State & County aforesaid of the other part.  Witnesseth that the said Henry
Hartsfield for & in consideration of the sum of Three hundred dollars to him
in hand paid by the said Sherwood Davis, the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged, Have granted bargained & sold & by these presence do grant
bargain & sell unto the sd. Sherwood Davis his heirs & assigns all that tract
or parcel of land containing two hundred acres Situate lying & being in the
State & County aforesaid on the waters of beaverdam Creek, Originially granted
to Abraham Livingston in a tract of fifteen hundred acres bounded on two sides
by David Craswell, Moses Watkins & Foster Lancy<?> Begining at a black Gum
corner on Fosters Line, & Running N. 71 W. 50 Chains to a White oak Corner on
Moses Watkins Line, Thence S. 6 E. 63 Chs. to a Post Oak on the County Line,
thence S. 71 E. 32 Ch. to a black oak corner thence N. 6 W. 63 ch. to the
begining to him the sd. Sherwood Davis his heirs & assigns forever, to have &
to hold all & singular the said Tract or parcel of Land, Together with all and
Singular the Rights members & appurtenances thereunto belonging.  & the said
Henry Hartsfield doth hereby bind himself his heirs &C. to warrant & forever
defend the said Tract of Land to him the said Sherwood Davis his heirs &
assigns forever, from the Just claim or claims of all and every person
whatever.  In witness Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand & affixed my seal
the day & year first above written.
