Indenture bet Henry Hartsfield & Edward McElroy 13 Jul 1825 Oglethorpe Co, GA This indenture made this the thirtieth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & twenty five Between Henry Hartsfield & Edward McElroy of the County & State aforesaid of the one part and John Gresham of the Same place of the other part Witnesseth that the Henry Hartsfield & Edward McElroy for and in Consideration of the sum of fifteen hundred Dollars to them in hand paid at and before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hat granted bargained sold and conveyed and by htese presents grant bargain sell & convey unto the said John gresham his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of Land containing three hundred acres be the same more or less in the aforesaid County of Oglethorpe on the South fork of Broad River & 285 acres granted to the heirs of William Barnett Begining at a Stake Corner on the river runing thence ten chain to a gum Corner on the deviding line Between David Barnett & the aforesaid Henry Hartsfield & Edward McElroy thence along the said line S 26 E Sixty three chain to a post Oak thence N 45 E Sixty five chants to a hickory thence along the river to the Begining Stake Corner thence up the river to a Burch thence to the gum on the dividing line it being a part of Popes Survey suposed to be fifteen acres to have and to hold said tract or parcel of Land unto him the said John Gresham his heirs and assigns together with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereof to the same in any manner belonging to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee simple. and we the said Henry Hartsfield & Edward McElroy for ourselves our heirs executors and administrators the said bargained premises unto the said John Gresham his heirs and assigns will warrant and for ever defend the right and title thereof against themselves and against the claim of all other persons whatever. In witness whereof we the said Henry Hartsfield & Edward McElroy have hereunto Set our hands and seals the day and year above written.
