This file was contributed by: Barbara Walker Winge Barbarawinge@yahoo.com ==================================================================== This Indenture made this Twentyfifth day of October in the Year One thousand Seven hundred & ninety two between Hugh Jones of the County of Wilkes in the State of Georgia - on the one part and Ferdinand Gresham of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Hugh Jones and Selah his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Seventy pounds Sterling to them the said Hugh Jones & Selah his wife in hand paid the Recipts whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained Sold and Delivered and be these precences do bargain Sell and Deliver Unto the said Ferdinand Gresham his heirs and assignes forever all that Tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the County and State aforesaid on the waters of Kettle Creek adjoining of Edward Harrison - Mathew Organ James Glagehorn Harris Gresham and said Ferdinand Gresham Containing Six hundred acres having such Shape form and Mark. Natural and artificial as appears by a plat of the same -- Answered to a Grant to Susannah Hammet Signed by his Honor the Governor om Council the Seventh day of February One Thousand Seven hundred and Eighty seven - Together with all and Singular the Rights Members appurtenants there of whatsoever to the said Tract or parcel of land belonging or any wise appurtenants and - also all the Estate Rights, Interest & claim in or out of the said Interest of the said Hugh Jones and Selah his wife to have and to hold the said Tract or parcel of Land and all and Singular the premises aforesaid with their and Every of their Rights Members appurtenants unto the said Ferdinand Gresham his heirs and assigns to his and their own proper use and behoof forever in fee simple-- In Wtiness where of the said Hugh Jones and Selah his wife- have hereunto Set their hands and Seals the day and Year first above written.
