Georgia, Oglethorpe County

This indenture made this the seventeenth day of December in the year eighteen 
hundred and fifty nine between Susan C Landrum of said County on the first 
part and George H Lester, Thomas B Moss, Zachariah H Clark, Zachariah P 
Landrum and Jonathan Sanders Trustees of the Baptist Church in the Town of 
Lexington Oglethorpe County of State of the second part Witnesseth That the 
said Susan C Landrum for and in consideration of the sum of sixteen hundred 
dollars to her in hand paid by the said Trustees the receipt whereof is hereby 
acknowledged does by these presents give grant bargain sell and convey unto 
the said Trustees and their Successors in Office for the sole use of said 
Baptist Church a certain lot of land in the Town of Lexington in said County. 
Containing three acres more or less being the lot on which George T Landrum 
decd land bounded on the east by the road from Lexington to the Depot on the 
south and west by lands formerly belonging to Nathan Mattox and on the north 
by lot of William M Lane together with all the rights and privileges hereto in 
any wise appertaining – To have and to hold the above granted premises to the 
said Trustees and their Successors in Office for the sole use of said Church 
in for simple – And the said Susan C Landrum will and her heirs executors and 
administrators shall the said property to the said Trustees and their 
Successors in Office forever warrant and defend against the lawful demands of 
all persons whatsoever – In testimony whereof the said Susan C Landrum has 
hereto set her hand and seal this day and year above written –
