     Book E, page 183-184
     A deed of gift to all present to whom these _____ ___ ____. I Adam
     SIMMONS do send greetings, Know you that I the said Adam SIMMONS of
     the County of Oglethorpe and State of Georgia. For and in
     consideration of the love and affection _____ I bear my daughter
     Rebekah THOMPSON and John THOMPSON my son-in-law of the county and
     state aforesaid have given granted absolutely by these present do
     freely give and grant unto the said John THOMPSON his heirs and
     ____ one hundred acres more or less of land lying in the county and
     state aforesaid it being a part of the land whereon I the said Adam
     SIMMONS do now live. Beginning ____ on the Augusta Road turning N
     to a Hickory corner on GRIFFITH land thence to Abel HOWARDS land to
     a pine corner thence S to a tract ____ to _____ .... in my
     possession in the county aforesaid of which _____ the signing of
     these present I have delivered him the said John THOMPSON an
     inventory signed with my own hand and bearing ____ to have and to
     hold this said Hundred acres of land ... John THOMPSON his heirs
     forever as his property absolutely without and manner of condition.
     In witness of I have hereunto put my hand and seal this 31 day of
     December 1804. Signed Adam SIMMONS senior; witnesses Jacob ODOM,
     James DAVENPORT, and John HARDMAN. Recorded 27th Jan 1808.
