All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Beth Collins http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00011.html#0002523 January 7, 2006, 10:06 pm Written: August 4, 1809 Recorded: November 28, 1809 Oglethorpe County Deed Book F, p. 17 – 18 Georgia } This Indenture made this fourth day of August in the Oglethorpe County } year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & nine Between Charles Simmons of the one part & Mathew Calwell of the other part both of the County & State aforesaid, Witnesseth that the said Charles Simmons for an in consideration of the sum of Sixty dollars to him in hand paid by the said Mathew Calwell therewith hath granted, bargained & sold and by these presents doth grant bargain & sell unto the said Mathew Calwell his heirs & assigns a certain tract piece or parcel of Land lying & being in the County aforesaid, on the waters of the dry fork containing twenty acres, be the same more or less, beginning at a black Jack corner thence to a R. O. corner near David Davis on to Road, thence to a P. O. corner on said Davis line, thence on Davis,s line to a persimmon corner on said Simmons line thence to a station sweet gum near the mouth of a stream thence up the Various courses of said stream to an ash corner on John Lumpkins line, thence along said line to the beginning corner, to have and to hold, the said tract or parcel of Land, together with all and singular the rights members and appertanances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining & the said Chas. Simmons doth by these presents warrant & forever defend the right & title of the land & premises aforesaid unto the said Mat Calwell his heirs & assigns forever, free from the lawfull claim or claims of him the said Chas Simmons his heirs & assigns or from the _____ of any other person or persons whatsoever in fee Simple, In witness whereof the said Charles Simmons hath hereunto set his hand & seal the day and date first above written – Signed Sealed & acknowledged in the presence of Charles Simmons Henry H.
