This file was contributed by: Jeanie Smith Zadach DaisyZ@aol.com ==================================================================== Oglethorpe County, Georgia Deed Book I Page 167-168 September 9, 1816 This indenture made this ninth day of September in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred & sixteen between Isham Smith & Palatiah his wife of the state of Georgia & County of Oglethorpe of the one part & George Latimer of the same County of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Isham Smith & Palatiah his wife for & in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to them in hand paid at or before the sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have granted bargained sold & confirmed unto the said George Latimer his heirs & assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in Oglethorpe County & State of Georgia on a branch of Troublesome Creek, containing ten acres e the same more or less it being part of a tract or parcel of land granted to Isham Smith. Beginning at an ash corner on the branch thence S. 60 W. to a stake corner, thence N. 40 W. to a post oak corner, thence N. 75 E. to the branch on Hartsfield’s old survey, thence the meanders of the branch to the beginning bounded at the time of survey east & south by Smith, west by Latimer, north by Hartsfield’s old survey. And the above mentioned Isham Smith & Palatiah his wife the aforesaid land & premises with their & every of their rights members & appurtenances thereof whatsoever to the said tract or parcel of land belonging or in anywise appertaining to the said George Latimer his heirs and assigns to his & their own proper use benefit & behoof in fee simple possession and will & shall warrant & forever defend by these presents against themselves their heirs executors & assigns.
