Winn ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "The Southern Recorder" Macon, Bibb Co., Georgia No. 44--Vol XVI Nov. 13, 1835 Extract from a long article "Presentments of the grand jury at Oglethorpe Superior Court Oct Term -- 1835" The grand jury present, charge and accuse Henry Wright and James T. Wright of said county with the offence of employing slaves in work on the Sabbath day, for the said Henry and James T. on the 14th day of June 1835, the same being the Sabbath day at the plantation of the said Henry, in the county aforesaid unlawfully did employ the slaves of him the said Henry, to wit: Nelson and others whose names are to be the jurors unknown in planting peas, such work not being absolutely necessary contrary to the laws of said state, the good order, peace and dignity thereof. In taking leave of Judge Andrews tender him our thanks for the ability and promptitude with which he has discharged his official duties.
