M.,Upon the death of J. V. Collier Death has again invaded our circle . Our Bro. J. V. Collier departed this life Jan. 27th 1889. For a number of years he has been identified in interest and affection with this lodge, but his Chair is now vacant. Our circle has been broken, yet we are not left desolate, for we feel that Our loss has been his eternal gain; he has simply gone before, and has entered the realms of the " Grand Lodge " above, and as a slight token of the esteem in wiich the brother was ever held by us, therefore Resolved 1st, That in the death of our Bro. J. V. Collier, this lodge has lost one of its most Zealous members. The community a good citizen and his family a kind husband and a loving Father. Resolved 2nd, that in this their sore trial we tender his family our sympathy and point them to the " loving Father ", who " doeth all things well " and who has promised to be a husband to the widow and a father to the children. Resolved 3rd, That the Lodge room be draped in mourning and the brethren wear the usual badge For thirty days. Resolved 4th, That a blank page in our record be inscribed with the name of our brother and a copy Of these resolutions be furnished the family of the deceased, also the Oglethorpe Echo for publication. Respectfully submitted B. H. Witcher C. M. Witcher Committee. Adapted by the lodge Feb. 9th, 1889
