Drake, a former resident of this place had died at her home in Social Circle, Mrs. Drake lived here quite a number of years and impressed all who knew her quiet, unassuming Christian character. She had been in failing health for some time and and her death was not unexpected. Her remains were laid to rest in the cemetery here after a very impressive funeral service conducted by Rev. Smith of Greensboro. She leaves a Husband, Stonewall Jackson Drake and 9 children and several grand-children who have the assurance, which a life such as hers gives, that she has passed on to Him who said, "Come unto Me, all ye that are heavy laden and I will give you rest." We would say to these sorrowing ones the only way that they can show their appreciation of her worthy life is to emulate her example, living the life that she lived, looking always to the Lamb of God who taketh away the sins of the world. Submitted by Lisa Graham. She was my GGG Grandmother. This came from the Orpe ECHO, Lexington, GA dated Friday November 4, 1927. Thank you..... Lisa Graham ( I liked this Obit) It seemed special & Caring....
