Obituary for Stephen Douglas Eberhardt Jr. Obituary: Stephen Douglas Eberhardt, Jr., 39, died September 16, 2009. A native and lifelong resident of this area, he was employed with CSX Railroad Company for the last five years and was a member of Winterville First Baptist Church. He will forever be remembered by his everlasting smile and courageous determination during his battle of cancer over the last 10 years. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Winterville First Baptist Church with Revs. Ed Walden and Derrick Paul officiating. Interment will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Stephens, GA. Survivors include his wife, Melisa Dair Eberhardt; two daughters, Emily Grace Eberhardt and Addison Sinclair Eberhardt; mother, Edna Moore; father and stepmother, Steve and Alice Eberhardt; mother-in-law, Tina Fleming and husband, Jay; father-in-law, Joe Guthrie and wife, Teresa; brothers, David Moore and Ty Cummings; sister, Missy Cummings Burkett; stepbrother, Nick Vandeford; stepsister Emma Davol; paternal grandmother, Colleen Eberhardt. He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Stephanie Delores Eberhardt and grandparents, Lucy and John Mel Howard and Pope Eberhardt. Pallbearers will be Keith Barnett, Chris Dellinger, Alan Erwin, Donny Faust, Matt King, Shane Kitchens, Roger McElhannon, and Mike Stanley. Honorary pallbearers will be Stan Anderson, Ken Calloway, Jim Holloman, and Jay Paul. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 until 3:00 PM and 6:00 until 9:00 PM at the Lord and Stephens Funeral Home of East Athens. Flowers are optional.
