Gunter, nine miles south of Nashville, on Friday morning, March 10, at 7:05 o'clock. Mrs. Gunter was ill for five days before she passed away, having suffered a heart attack the first of the week. Funeral services were held at Mt. Olive Church in Fitzgerald on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. L.A. Hancock conducted the services. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Gunter was born in Oglethorpe County, was married to John Bynum Gunter, by whom she was preceded in death. Her faith was with the Holiness Baptist Church. Surviving her are five sons and six daughters, Brewer Gunter and Mrs. Janie Bailey, of Nashville; Mrs. Mattie Johnson, of Alapaha; Jim Gunter, of Omega; Chester Gunter, of Enigma; Mrs. Lillian McKinnon, of Watkinsville; Mrs. Odessa Boggs, of Point Peter; Mrs. Lula Smith and Tom Gunter of Fitzgerald; Mrs. Mamie Burt, of Point Peter, and Allen Gunter, of Athens.
