Obituary for James "J. C." Stone Obituary: James “J.C.” Stone Comer - James Clifford Stone, 77, husband of Ouida Kesler Stone, died Monday, May 10, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 3PM at the chapel of Lord & Stephens East with Rev. John Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Apostolic Church (formerly know as the Meeting House). The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. A native of Greensboro, he was the son of the late Joseph and Nellie Little Stone. Mr. Stone was a member of Masonic Lodge # 158, the Athens Shriners Club, Clouds Creek Baptist Church and was a very devoted family man. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters: Eva Lois Griffith, Josephine Clifton and Shirley Walden. In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons: Randall Stone Patat of Greenville, SC, Glenn Edward Patat of Hull, GA, Kelly D. Patat of Hull, GA; brothers: Walter “Pep” L. Stone of Greensboro, Edward Stone of Tennessee; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
