Mrs. J. R. Stevens Dead

The announcement of the death, on Monday night last, of Mrs. J. 
R. Stevens, at her home in Grove Creek district, was a shock to almost 
the entire county.  Though she had been complaining for several days 
her death was unexpected.  She was one of the best women of the county, 
beloved by a large circle of acquaintances.  She leaves a sorrowing 
husband and several children to mourn their bereavement.  Her remains 
were laid to rest in the family burying ground Wednesday,  the large 
number gathering to pay her a last tribute of respect to her memory 
attesting the esteem in which she was held.
