A native of Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Thomas was a daughter of the late Robert Edward and Elizabeth Mattox Caldwell, and widow of Edgar Lee Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Palmetto Christian Church. Funeral services were Saturday, October 28, at Hicks Funeral Home. The Rev. Randy Condell officiated and burial was in the Caldwell Family Cemetery in Oglethorpe County. Pallbearers were Guy Watkins, Greg Armstrong, Charles Watson, Noah Brown, Rodney Blount and Jeff Nieznay. Survivors include a son, Lowell M. Thomas, Powder Springs; three daughters, Edna T. Moon, Elberton, and Glady's T. Smith and Geraldine T. Argo, both of Lexington; two sisters, Blondine Smith and Reba Caldwell, both of Lexington; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Hicks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
