Winn, 63, died at St. Mary's hospital today from injuries sustained yesterday when he was hit by an automobile driven by Father Finn, Catholic Priest of Washington, Ga., on the Lexington road. Mr. Winn died at 6 o'clock this morning, never regaining consciousness after he was carried to the hospital. The accident occurred about 12:30 yesterday, and he was rushed immediately to the hospital by Rev. Finn. MR. Winn, who lived on the Lexington road suffered a fractured skull, a severely cut side, and slight cuts on the arms and face, it was reported at the hospital. A coroner's jury convened today at 8 o'clock. The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eva Winn; three daughters, Miss Merlyn Winn, Miss Marie Winn and Miss Francis Winn; two sons, Compton and Harris Winn; a brother, Dick Winn; and three sisters, Miss Mary Ann Winn, Miss Ida Winn and Mrs. W.C. Couch. Funeral services will be held at Bernstein's chapel Thursday afternoon at 2:30, with the Rev. Paul Brady, Holiness pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Pennicost Holiness cemetery in Oglethorpe county, with Bernstein's in charge. Mr. Winn had lived in Clarke county approximately all his life although he was born in Hart county. He was a very successful farmer, and was well known in this section.
