Will of Elizabeth H. Bradley, Oglethorpe Co. GA Submitted by Wayne D. Tiller wtiller@attglobal.net Will of Elizabeth H. Bradley In the Name of God Amen. -- I Elizabeth H. Bradley of the County of Oglethorpe and the state of Georgia being low in health but sound in mind and taking into consideration the uncertainty of life, and knowing that it is appointed that all must die, do make and ordain this my last will & testament and by this do revoke all former wills. Item. It is my will & desire that after my death that my body shall be buried in a decent Christian like manner and all of my just debts be paid and the balance of my property to be divided as follows --- Item. I give unto my niece Elizabeth Nowell one negro man by the name of Elick, also one bed and furniture and all the household furniture that belongs to me - also one horse. I do not want Elick parted from his wife. Item. I give to my sister Francis Embry the balance of a note on Wm W. Davenport after paying my debts out of said note. It is my desire that Richard R. Winfrey be my lawful executor to carry my above will into effect in testimony of which I now hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this the seventeeth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one her Elizabeth H. Vaughan & Rainey Eads - Ordered that the same be admitted to record - Georgia, Oglethorpe County -- Personally appeared in open court Jonathan C. Vaughan and Rainey Eades witnesses to the within will and after being duly sworn deposeth and saith that they saw Elizabeth H. Bradly sign seal publish and declare the writing to be her last will & testament that at the time thereof she was of sound disposing mind and memory, and that she did it freely without compulsion, and that they also signed the same as witnesses to the best of your knowledge, so help you God - Jonathan C.
