First it is my will and desire that my body be decently interred by my friends and executors, and I will and bequeath my soul to Almighty God who gave it me, in hopes of its gracious acceptance with Him. 1 Item: It is my will and desire that all my just debts be first paid out of my estate and the remainder to be disposed of in the following manner - 2 Item: I give unto my beloved wife Elizabeth Carter all my stock, household, and kitchen furniture. I also give the tract of land whereon I now live, adjoining James Johnson and others, her life time, and after her death, I give and bequeath the said tract of land to my sons, Jesse Carter and William Carter, to them and their heirs forever. 3 Item: I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Carter one feather bed, to him and his heirs forever, at his mother's death, or before, if his mother thinks proper, and after my wife's death, what is left to be equally divided amongst all my children. 4 Item: I do hereby nominate, constitute, and appoint my sons Jesse Carter and William Carter executors of this, my last will and testament, and hereby revoke and disanull all former wills by me made.
