A, p. 325) Oglethorpe Co.: Mary Edwards, Jno. Fluker & Absolem Bidell are bound to Mathew Rainey, Register of Probates, for $1000, 2 Apr. 1796. Condition of the obligation is that Mary Edwards, admrx. Of property of Benjamin Edwards, late of this co., decd, make inventory, make accounting of her actings, pay debts, if a will be found it be proved, & deliver Letters of Admr., then this to be void, else to remain in full force. (signed) Mary (x) Edwards, A. Bidell, Jno. Fluker. Wit: Mat. Rainey, R.P.O. Benjamin died without a will, but the court appointed Mary as his administratrix. Mary had to provide an inventory of his estate, and this was done in Oglethorpe Co. I think I have a copy of it somewhere, but it is hardly ledgible. Also, when Mary died in 1823, Thomas was her administrator, and had to provide an inventory. I think I have a copy of that somewhere too. Also, the disposition of her estate is on record in Greene Co. It mentions Thomas Edwards, Etheldred Edwards, and their sister Jemima Edwards, receiving parts of the estate.
