This file was contributed by: Jeanne Arguelles ejarguelles@msn.com ==================================================================== Will of William Glenn, Sr. Oglethorpe County, GA 31 Jan 1857 Georgia Oglethorpe County In the name of God, Amen, That I, William Glenn Senior, being of advanced age and knowing that according to the laws of nature I must shortly depart this life, and now being in good health deem it right and just as respects myself and family that I make some disposition of the property that a kind Providence has blessed me with, Item 1st - I direct that after my death that my body be buried in a decent Christian like manner suited to my circumstances in life, and I trust my spirit will return to God who gave it, whose religion I have professed and I trust have enjoyed for the last Forty seven years, Nine months and Seven days. Item 2nd – I direct that all my just debts be paid as I am unwilling that my creditors be delayed in their just rights, especially when there is no cause for delay. Item 3rd – I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth G. Howard (as I am living in the house with her) all my beds, bed clothes and furniture that I brought with me to her house. Item 4th – I now direct that the residue of my estate, wherever and whatever may be found, be equally divided between my daughter Elizabeth G. Howard, my daughter Rebecca Glenn, William A. Howard, the only legal representative of my daughter Mary Howard, and the children of my son John A. Glenn, deceased, Viz: James S. Glenn, Thos. Glenn, L. M. Glenn, John A. Glenn, R. M. Glenn, F. G. Glenn, Mary L. Glenn, S. M. Glenn, Robert A. Glenn and Ann E. Cottle, wife of W. S. Cottle. Item 6th – I herein appoint Asa J. Howard my sole executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills heretofore made by me. In witness I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 31st day of Jan. 1857.
