Oglethorpe Co., Georgia, Last Will & Testament of Noah Hill, 25 Feb 1805 Contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Laura Stotler Lstotler@aol.com> Last Will and Testament of Noah Hill, 1805: Oglethorpe County, GA Will Book A, p. 152-155 Ordinary's Office--- In the name of God amen- I Noah Hill of the County of Oglethorpe & state of Georgia Being very sick & weak; but of perfect mind & memory Thanks be Given unto God, calling unto mind the mortality Of my body & knowing that it is appointed for all men Once to die, do make & ordain this my last will and testament, that is to say principally & first of all, I give & recommend my soul, into the hands of almighty God that Gave it, & my body I recommend to the earth To be buried in a decent christian burial at the discretion Of my Executors, nothing doubting, but at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same attain by the mighty Power of God-and as touching such worldly estate (illegible)with, it has pleased God to (illegible) me within this life, I give devise & dispose of in the following manner and form- First, it is my desire that all my worldly Estate be Equally divided between my three children (to wit) Alexander Franklin Hill, Walton Pope Hill and Paulina Hill both real & personal & it is My desire that the lands & plantation whereon I now live, be rented out as long as my Exs thinks Fit; & then exposed to publick sale, to the highest Bider & a credit of four years be Given the Quantity of acres is three hundred two & a half-it is my desire, that whenever the eldest child comes of age, or in case Paulina Hill should marry- that my executors should make an Equal division of the whole Estate, & the one coming of age, or the one marrying should receive their part & the other two parts put together again, until the other boy comes of age; or Paulina should marry, then the Estate to be Equally divided between them- It is my desire likewise, that Abraham Hill, Wiley Pope, Miles Hill & Robert Pope whom I likewise constitute make & ordain the sole Exs. of this my last will & testament & I do hereby Disallow, revoke & disanull, all & every other Former testaments, wills, ligairs(?), bequeaths & Exs By me in any wise before made, willed and Bequeathed ratifying & confirming this & No other; to be my last will & testament, in Witness whereof I have hereunto unto set My hand & seal this twenty fifth day of February in the year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred & five in the twenty ninth year of american Independence--- Signed sealed & acknowledged } Noah Hill (sig) (Seal) in the presents of } Thomas Wootton (sig) } Benjamin Taylor (sig) } Recorded 20th June 1805 Wiley Pope (sig) } (Signature of Ordinary of the Court) ************************************************************************ USGENWEB ARCHIVES NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by any other organization or persons.
