Georgia } I Jack Lumpkin of the County & State aforesaid Oglethorpe County } being of sound mind and disposing memory do Make this my last will and testament on this the twenty first day of April in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight Hundred and thirty nine. Item 1st, I give to my beloved wife Anna P. Lumpkin Hanna and Lucy two Negro Girls during her natural life, and their future increase and at her death to dispose of in that way that she may chose provided she remains unmarried until she dies. But if she marries after my death they & their increase at her death are to be equally divided between my four youngest children. To wit. Nevill, Anna, A. E. Naomi & Miriam Lumpkin. I also give or lend to my wife during her Widowhood all my property not herein after expressly willed to others that is the one fifth part of all my negroes, except the two above named and Becky and Crepy, all my land & stock furniture and all other rights interest and claim after paying out of it all just debts to be for her use and support and the support of the family Remaining with her so long as she Remains a widow and at her death to be equally divided between the aforesaid children Nevill, Anna, Naomi & Miriam provided she should again Marry at that time an Equal division will be made between her and these four children to wit Nevill, Anna, Naomi and Miriam of the said one fifth of the Negros heretofore loaned to my wife and also of all the other property heretofore given her for her use and common stock such as land stock &c, and at her death said fifth part which she received in the division between her and the aforesaid Nevill, Anna, Naomi & Miriam is equally divided between the said children-There add what I have omitted, and correct what I wish corrected in the foregoing, that is, that where four children are married in dividing with my wife at her second marriage and dividing Property give or Loaned to her until her death that there should be five-that my Daughter Adaline Beasley should be an equal sharer with the other four children already named in all the Property left to wife- Item 2nd I give to my son Henry H. Lumpkin at my death an Account which I hold against him for twelve Hundred & fifty eight dollars and 76/100 due 6th April 1838 and bearing interest from this 6th of January 1835.- Item 3rd I give at my death one Hundred dollars to my daughter Mary A. F. Strong. Item 4th I give at my death to my daughter Nancy A Beasley one Negro Girl Becky. Item 5th I leave at my death to Mary Crowley one negro Girl Cripy during said Mary's natural life and at her death said Negro & her increase is to be the property of Babicy so called at the time that is Anna A. C. Lumpkin's child provided said Mary dies childless but if she has children said Negro & her increase is to be equally divided between them all & Babicy at Mary's death. Item 6th I Give to my four youngest children to wit Nevill Merrit Lumpkin, Anna A. E. Lumpkin, Naomi Lumpkin and Miriam Lumpkin four fifths of all the (can't read word) of any Negroes, not herein Already expressly named that is Isaac, Fany, Nancy, Joe, Cavey, Peter, Tom, Mary, Stephen, Yarrico, Abram, Martha, Phillis, Charles, Agnes, Mira, Randal, Cela, Ann, Mat, Henry, Marriett, Dilly, Jerry, Linney, Cynthia, Lousia, Simon, George and Maryann to be equally divided Between them at my death the other fifth to go to my fife as heretofore already named, and at her second marriage or death to be dispersed of according to said former disposition. Item 7th I hereby Appoint my beloved wife Executrix & Nevill M. Lumpkin & William Beasley executors of this my last Will and Testament. Item 8th It is my wish that my two youngest children Naomi & Miriam should be Educated to the utmost extent of their income & that Babicy so called should have a good Education and that provided there should be money in the hand of my wife sufficient to Justify it, that these three children should never be charged for board & that they be assisted out of the common stock under my wife's control to obtain a good Education- Item 9th Anna A. E. Lumpkin & Mary Crowly are not to pay board so long as they dwell in the family my wife's Home is to be their home so long as she lives provided they choose to make it so & the approving their deportment. Item 10th Nothing in this instrument is to be so construed as to entitle Henry H. Lumpkin or Mary A. F. Strong to any part of my Property which has not been expressly given them.
