John C. Nowell (Seal) William H. Smith C.C.O. John Martin (Seal) (Note-John C. Noell and Beverly Noell are the only two sons of Robert Noell left alive in Oglethorpe County in 1834. The only reason I can imagine that there was a need for this action is the death of Robert Noell's wife, Mary Noell. The bond amount is very small indicating little value of the estate. However, Mary's death could have occurred between 1821 and 1822 as that is when the land left to Beverly by Robert's will was taken by Beverly Noell. However, I believe that between 1821 and 1822 Mary probably started living with James Noell, who died before May 12, 1830 but after the census of that year, and is the female between 60-70 in his household in 1830) and this action was precipitated by her death in early 1834.
