Estate Case File Oglethorpe County 209-2-1 Noell, Seymor 1864 - 1870 Annual return 1864-1870 Bond Adm 1864 Inventory & appr. 1864 Warrent of appr. 1864 Letters to Adm. 1864 State of Georgia / To the Ordinary of said County. Oglethorpe County / The Petition of Eliza Noell showeth that Seymor Noell of said county has lately departed this life intestate leaving a considerable property in land negroes Stock Household & Kitchen furniture etc worth proverbly fifty thousand dollars. She is the wife and relict of the said Seymon Noell and a citizen of said County and over the age of twenty one years -- she therefor makes application for letters of administration on the Estate of said deceased and prays that citation may issue accordingly -- this 18th Augt 1864. Eliza Noell State of Georgia / Oglethorpe County / Citation for letters of administration on the estate of Seymon Noell was this day granted Eliza Noell in accordance with the above petition this 18th day of August 1864. Shackelford Ordinary State of Geo / To the Court of Ordinary Oglethorpe Co / October term 1864 I Eliza Noell do hereby renounce the application for letters of administration on the estate of Seymore Noell deceased and request that David W Patman be appointed by the Court administrator on the estate of said decd 3rd October 1864 Eliza Noell State of Georgia / Oglethorpe County. / Know all Men by these Presents, That we David W Patman as principal and Eliza Noell and James Appling Securities are held and firmly bound and obligated unto the Honorable the Ordinary of said county, for the time being, and his successors in office, in the sum of One thousand Dollars, to be paid to the said Ordinary, his successors in office; or assigns: for which payment, well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves, jointly and severally, and each of our heirs, executors and administrators, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated at Lexington the Third day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty four. The Condition of the above Obligation is such, That if the above bound David W Patman administer of the goods, chattels and credits of Seymon Noell deceased, do make a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession or knowledge of the said David W Patman or in the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him and the same so made do exhibit in the Court of Ordinary of said county when he shall be thereunto required, and such goods, chattels and credits, do well and truly administer according to law and make a just and true account of his actings and doings therein when required by the Superior Court or the Ordinary for the said county, and all the rest of the goods, chattels and credits which shall be found remaining upon the account of the said administration, the same being first allowed by the said Court, shall deliver and pay to such persons respectively as are entitled to the same by law. And if it shall hereafter appear that any last Will and Testament was made by the said deceased, and the same be proved before the Court, and the executors obtain a certificate of the probate thereof, and the said David W Patman do in such case, if required, render and deliver up the said letters of administration, then this obligation to be void, else to remain in full force. These are to authorise you, or any three or more of you, to repair to all such parts and places as you shall be directed unto by David W Patman administrator of all and singular, the Goods and Chattels, Rights and Credits of Seymon Noell deceased, wheresoever any of the Goods or Chattels of the said deceased are, or do remain, within the said parts or places, and which shall be shown unto you by the said David W Patman admr and there view and appraise, all and every the said Goods and Chattels, being first sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God, to make a true and perfect inventory and appraisement thereof, and to cause the same to be returned under your hands, or any three or more of you, to the said administrator within three months from the date hereof, In Testimony Whereof, I hereunto affix my hand and seal this third day of October 1864.
