Will of Humphrey Tompkins 20 Sept 1813 Oglethorpe County, GA In the name of God amen. I Humphrey Tompkins being in my perfect senses, & of a sound mind & memory But advanced in years, & knowing that in a short time I must give my body to the dust, & my soul to almighty God that gave it - to prevent all dispute that might happen concerning my property. I give & dispose of it in the following manner (to wit) Item the first, I give to my daughter Nancy Williams one shilling Item 2nd I give to my daughter Nancy Williams children a certain tract of land containing two hundred acres , lying in Wilks County on Pistol Creek joining Reubin Saffold & others, the said land at the death of my above mentioned daughter is to be sold & the money equally divided among all her children ------ Item 3rd I give to my son Giles Tompkins one shilling. ------- Item 4th I give to my daughter Susanna Marks one shilling ------- Item 5th I give to my daughter Eleonor Crain one shilling --------- Item 6th I give to my daughter Eleonor Crains children a certain tract or lot of land containing two hundred two & half acres, it being lot number sixteen in the fourteenth district of Baldwin when surveyed, now Randolph County, my daughter Eleonor Crain has the priviledge of going on it to live & staying her lifetime, if she should not go on it, I appoint Spencer Crain Junior to rent it out & four years rent to return to my Estate after that to the benefit of her children when of age ------------ Item 7th I give to my daughter Elisabeth Tompkins one negro woman Kisiah, & her three children namly John, Nick & Bill. I give to her & her heirs for ever ------- Item 8th I give to my daughter Polly Crain one negro man named Jesse to her & her heirs for ever ------ Item 9th I give to my Grand Daughter Susana Crain one negro woman named Reoney & her three children named Easter, Warren & Wingfield, to her & her heirs for ever. ---- Item 10th I give to my supposed son Simion Littleton one negro boy by the name of Lirrey & one negro woman by the name of Tillis to him & his heirs for ever - but if my supposed son Simion Little should die without a lawfull begotened heir of his body then it is my will & desire that the above named negro boy Lirry & negro woman Tillis be sold & the money equally divided among all my children. It is my will & desire that all my just debts should be paid out of the balance of my estate not yet mentioned or given away & after the payment of all my just debts, for it to be divided equally between all my above named children ----- I do constitute & appoint Samuel Bradford & my supposed son Simeon Little my executors of this my last will & testament Revoking all other made by me & confirming this & no other to be my last will & testament in witness where of I have set my hand & seal this 20th day of Septr.
