Tiller - 1872 State of Georgia, Oglethorpe County -- We George W Whitehead, Mrs. C M Escoe, Calender Glenn, C A Whitehead were presant the thirty first day of October Eighteen hundred and Seventy two at the residence of Mrs Martha Tiller a widow of Sampson Tiller before and the time of her death about Four hours before her death in perfect possession of mental faculties she caled upon us to take notice what she was about to say. She wished us to understand that her will and desire was that Enough of her perishable property should be sold to finish paying for her land and all the just debts should be paid and the two feather beds to go with the little girls the bed clothing to be divided among the children. William, Francis & James Tiller her sons to have the heiffers as she gave to them. This the second day of November Eighteen hundred and seventy two - G W Whitehead C A Whitehead her C M X Escoe mark Test C M Hammond R R Mitchell Ordinary O.C. State of Georgia, Oglethorpe County -- Ordinary's Office Lexington Ga. April 29th 1873. In Chambers Personally appeared before me G. W. Whitehead, C. A. Whitehead and Mrs C. M. Escoe the three subscribing witnesses on the within Nuncupative Will, and after being duly sworn deposeth and saith that Martha Tiller who was the widow of Sampson Tiller deceased, in her last illness and at her place of residence in said County, Called upon them to take notice of what she was about to say, when she pronounced in our presence the within in substance of her last Will and Testament, and shortly thereafter departed this life without revoking the same. So far as we know or believe, that at the time thereof she was of sound mind and memory, and that she did it freely without compulsion, and that we submitted the same to writing within (2) two days after her decease, to the best of our knowledge and belief so help us God.
