Tiller of Oglethorpe County, GA - 1895 State of Georgia, Oglethorpe County -- In the name of God Amen. I William Tiller of the County and State aforesaid being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do hereby make this, my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills heretofore made by me - Item 1st I desire all my just debts be paid as soon as practicable after my death, by my executor - hereinafter named. Item 2nd - I give and bequeath to my wife, Lucretia Ann Tiller, the plantation whereon I now reside, in said county, containing one hundred and seventy-seven acres, more or less, and known as the "Home Place", together with all the household and kitchen furniture, stock of all kinds, farming tools and vehicles, that may be on the said home place at the time of my death, as also all crops that may be on the place at the time of my death, either matured or growing - for her own seperate use and maintenance during her natural life or widowhood; and at her death or marriage, then it is my will that all the above discribed property be equally divided between my Daughters Cynthia Mathews, wife of A. D. Mathews and Mary Jane Bridges, wife of James L. Bridges, except my bed, bedstead, bedding and bed cloths, which I give to my said wife in her own right, and to do as she pleases with. Item 3rd I give and bequeath to my Daughter Cynthia Mathews, wife of A. D. Mathews, all my one half interest in a certain tract of land which I am jointly with her husband, the said A. D. Mathews, the whole of said tract of land being about two hundred and six acres, more or less. Item 4th I give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary Jane Bridges, wife of James L. Bridges, all my one half interest in a certain tract of land in said county which I am jointly with her husband, the said James L. Bridges - the whole of said tract of land containing about two hundred and six acres more or less. Item 5th The reason I have not named my Son Joseph W. Tiller in this my will, is because I have already given him his portion of my Estate, - and he has Expressed himself as fully satisfied with what he has received as being his portion - Item 6th I hereby nominate and appoint my son in law, James L. Bridges, to be Executor of this my will - In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this 7th day of August 1895. That he is a resident and citizen of said State and County, and of lawful age: 2nd,. That William Tiller of Oglethorpe County departed this life in said County on the 11 day of November, A. D. 1906, after having made and duly executed his last Will and Testament here to the Court shown. 3rd That your Petitioner is nominated the Executor of said Will. Your Petitioner produces said Will in Court and pray that the same may be proved and admitted to record in common form, and that Letters Testamentary issue to your Petitioner in terms of the law.
