Item 1st I commend my soul to God who gave it and my body to my family and friends to be buried in a plain decent manner. Item 2nd I wish all my just debts paid. Item 3rd I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Franky Johnson all the property she brought with her into my family that remains in my possession at the time of my decease. One 1 horse Barniche and Harness, and one hundred and fifty acres of Lands, adjoining Henry Farmer and John Sims, it being a part of Land known as the Goss tract, which I bought of my son Burten Johnson provided she settles and lives on it; if not to revert to my estate immediately, this land I give in lieu of a Dower; the property bequeathed to my wife to be hers only during her natural life and the whole to revert to my Estate at her death. Item 4th I give in trust to Henry Hawk one negro girl named Jane, at any time hereafter. That he may will or may recieve her for the sole use and benefit of my daughter, Elizabeth Hawk, wife of said Henry Hawk during her natural life. I also give in trust to Henry Hawk at my decease one equal share with my other legatees hereinafter named for the sole use and benefit of my daughter Elizabeth Hawk wife of said Henry Hawk during her natural life and I am __ ___ ___ Henry Hawk ________ the said part or partion interested with him for the sole use and benefit of my daughter Elizabeth Hawk during her natural life to use and manage as shall be most to her interest, and at her death the said part or portion to be received or taken by my Executor hereinafter appointed from the said Henry Hawk and distributed as the rest of my estate among my legatees as hereinafter directed giving one equal part to each of them. Item 5th I give and bequeath to my grand children the children of my son William Johnson one equal share or portion of my estate to be equally divided among them in place of giving the said share or portion to my son William Johnson and the shares of such as an minor to remain in the possession of my Executors until they shall have a legal representative to receive the same for them. Item 6th I give and bequeath to my grand children the lawful heirs of the body of my deceased daughter Disey Elkins, one equal share or portion of my estate to be equally divided among them. Item 7th I give and bequeath to my daughter Cynthia Hardman if living one equal share of my estate to be equally divided among the lawful heirs of her body at her death, and it being reported that she is dead at this time, if so, I give the said portion or equal share to the lawful heirs of her body. Item 8th I give and bequeath to my son Isaac Johnson one equal part or share of my estate. Item 9th I give and bequeath to my son Reuben Johnson one equal part or share of my estate. Item 10th I give and bequeath to my son Dempsey Johnson one equal part or share of my estate. Item 11th I give and bequeath to my son James Johnson one equal part or share of my estate. Item 12th I give and bequeath to my son Redford Johnson one equal part or share of my estate. Item 13th I give and bequeath to my daughter Polly Edwards or the lawful heirs of her body one equal part or share of my estate. Item 14th I give and bequeath tomy son Sanford Johnson one equal part or share of my estate. Item 15th I give and bequeath to my Grandchildren -the Children of my deceased son Burton Johnson, one equal portion of my estate to be equally divided among them. Item 16th It is my will and wish that after my decease one certain Negro woman named Lolly be at liberty to choose a home for herself among any of my children free of any charge whatever. Item 17th I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my sons Sanford Johnson and Reuben Johnson Executors to this my last will and Testament and clothe them with full power to dispose of my land estate private or public without any order of Court or any Sixty days notice and if sold, public thirty day notice in a public Gazette, my Executors to manage to the best advantage to all parties concerned advise with the Legatees that is of age and my Grand children to abide __ the judgment of my Executor or Executors and the Legatees that are of age.
