The boy, accompanied by his mother and little brother were walking along the track when the train was heard. Young STARR seeing his little brother some distance back on the track ran to him and made an effort to carry him off the trestle, but not having time to do so, he pitched the little fellow to safety, and was himself crushed to death by the train.
