Again it becomes our sad duty to chronicle the death of one of our most worthy citizens, Mr. Rich Bone died at this residence last Wednesday morning about 2 o’clock of typhoid fever, after an illness of near five weeks, and was buried in the Dallas cemetery today (Thursday) at one o’clock. Mr. Bone was loved and respected by all who knew him, and he will be greatly missed by the people in this community. When Dallas was incorporated Mr. Bone was appointed as Marshal, and held that office up to the time of his death. We never, during his official career, heard one word uttered against him, but on the contrary he was praised by all. It will be a hard matter to find a man who will discharge the duties of marshal as well as he did. He was always prompt in the discharge of his duties, but at the same time doing it in such a manner that no one could possibly become offended at his course. Mr. Bone was in the prime of life—about thirty five years of age, he leaves a wife and several children and numerous friends and relatives to mourn his untimely death. We extend our sympathies to the bereaved family.
