The Paulding New Era, May 17, 1883 
George Butner, a negro of Powder Springs, was slain by his wife according to 
the best information, last Saturday night while walking along the road near 
their home.  Jealousy seems to have been the cause.  The woman did the work 
with a knife, and then called lustily for help.
