Paulding New Era, June 7, 1883 
In our last week’s issue was announced the favorable condition of young Mr. 
Charley Carter, who had at short time been ___ only about a run of eight days 
with that fell destroyer, typhoid fever, but later, as be approached the 
origin it was evident to his family and friends that his system was rapidly 
yielding to the disease, and as the twentieth day, of last week, poor 
exhausted nature gave up the struggle, and Charley passed away peacefully into 
the Great Beyond.  It is sad indeed to see a young man whose prospects in life 
were cut off in the very flower of his youth.  

The New Era offers its sympathies to the bereaved family.
