His observation was acute; his research and learning quite liberal. Genial by nature and urban in manners, characteristic of his nationality. Major was engaged with Rev. J.R.T. Brown in the tin and house furnishing business here for awhile, and lately at Villa Rica. The tin roof of the New Era and drug store building was placed by the Major. He has relatives in Charleston, S.C. The Major was neatly placed away by friends.
