He was a positive influence in the community through the American Legion Post III, Mason Order Albany Lodge 24, Eastern Star Austell 314 and active in the Republican Party. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, USS Shamrock Bay, having served in WWII, and a Georgia Power Retiree, where they called him “Top Cat”. His favorite saying was “if you can’t handle it, call me.” He leaves behind, his wife Faye; children, Paul, Kent, Neil, Stacie, and Dandy also 10 grandchildren. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, October 19, 2004 from the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home with Dr. James Burdette officiating. Interment followed in Powder Springs Memorial Gardens.
