He was born in Paulding County on September 24, 1931, son of the late Cleve Henry Hannah and the late Nora Genell Caldwell Hannah. He lived his entire lifetime in this area and served in the United States Army. He was retired from Exide Battery Company where he worked for about 32 years in supervision. In 2000, he retired for the second time from the Paulding County Board of Commissioners where he worked for about 20 years as a building inspector. He was a Methodist and also a member of the American Legion post 70, Villa Rica. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Thomas Hannah on July 4, 2003 and a brother, Wayne Hannah. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Doreen Hannah of Temple; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and David Adair of Dallas; his grandchildren, Kyle Adair of Dallas and Laura Beth Hannah and John Hannah both of Temple; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack Hannah of Temple, Donald and Ann Hannah of Temple, and Ruth Hannah of Temple; his special caregiver, Clara Golden of Temple and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning, June 22,2 004, at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of J. Hoyt Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Benny Abney and Bobby Hollis officiating. Pallbearers were Bobby Hollis, Jimmy Hannah, Shawn Hannah, Daniel Hollis, Mark McCravy, and Dickie Buchanan. Tommy H. (Bud) Thomas and employees of Exide Battery Company and members of the Paulding County Board of Commissioners served as honorary pallbearers. Interment followed in the Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery in Paulding County with the flag ceremony and presentation conducted by the honor guard team of American Legion Post 143, Carrollton.
