Services were held Thursday in the chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Jenkins officiating. Interment was held in Cheatham Hill Memorial Park. Dr. Hathcock was a practicing ears, eyes, nose and throat surgeon in the Atlanta area for over 50 years and was on the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital of Atlanta. Upon retiring from his medical practice he went on to serve as a consultant for the State of Georgia until March of 2004. Dr. Hathcock was also the founder of the Northside Independent Methodist Church of Sandy Springs. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Woodard Hathcock; two sons, William Caldwell Hathcock III, Hal Woodard Hathcock; grandchildren, Ashley Hathcock Stenglein, William Caldwell Hathcock IV, Steve Gardner Hathcock; Great- grandchildren, Christopher David Stenglein, Gardner Patrick Stenglein. The family received friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. West Cobb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
