The Atlanta Constitution Newspaper, Atlanta, Georgia, December 3, 1912 
R.E. Hipps, Marietta, Ga. 

December 2. R.E. Hipps, aged 62 years, died suddenly at his home here 
yesterday morning. He was at his place of business till 9 o’clock Saturday 
night, and was up yesterday morning for a couple of hours. Heart failure is 
assigned as the cause of his death. He leaves a wife and twelve living 
children. They are Mrs. B.E. Croker, wife of the ordinary of Paulding county; 
Mrs. Hay and Miss Minnie Hipps, of Dallas; Mrs. Clontz, of Hiram; Mrs. J. B. 
Hill, of Macon; Mrs. Coggins, of East Point; Mrs. Maude Foster, of this place; 
Miss Clara Hipps and two younger ___, who lived with the parents here. The 
funeral will be conducted tomorrow, and the burial will occur at Hiram 
tomorrow.
