The Paulding New Era, September 20, 1883
The Era is pained to learn that little Mamie, aged 1 year 2 mo and 10 days, 
infant daughter of Mr. R.M. and Mrs. S.O. Hope, of Rockmart, is no more in 
this life.  The death scene is said to have been very affecting.  Little 
Mamie, awakened back to human consciousness by the deep agonizing sobs of a 
heart broken mother, threw her child arms about her mothers neck, and 
implanting a last kiss upon her trembling lips, breathed her life out sweetly 
there.  We have not the space for the obituary in full and must be content 
with this notice, and offer our sympathies to the bereaved father and mother 
in this, their sorrow.
