The Paulding New Era, February 15, 1883 
Mr. J.R. Jones, who was shot by Mr. S.S. Moore, last Tuesday week, has since 
died from the effect of his wound.  He died last Saturday morning in Dallas 
and was removed to his home in the country on Saturday evening, and was buried 
on Sunday, at the family burying ground.
