"Red" Jones Passes April 23 Mr. Marvin F. "Red" Jones, age 81, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away April 23, 2005 at WellStar Cobb Hospital. Mr. Jones was born May 7, 1923 in Paulding County, Georgia, the son of the late Bennie McGarity Jones and the late Cora Bullock Jones. For many years he worked in the Lumber Business and was the Owner of M. F. Jones Chevrolet Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Dallas. Survivors include two daughters, Ms. Adel Jones of Highland, North Carolina and Mr. and Mrs. Jim (Jean) Pasquale of Nashville, Tennessee; granddaughter, Ms. Wendy Cates of Johnson City, Tennessee; two brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Benson M. (Dorothy) Jones of Columbus, GA and Mr. Thomas Ruben Jones of Blue Ridge, GA and sister-in-law, Mrs. Joyce H. Jones of Dallas. In addition to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bennie (Cora) Jones, he was preceded in death by his wife of more than 62 years, Mrs. Lawanna Jones, who passed away July 2, 2004; they had been married December 13, 1941; sister, Mrs. Eugenia Jones Blackstock; brother, Mr. Billie Joe Jones and twin boys who passed away at birth. Funeral Services were held on Sunday, April 24, 2005 at 2:00 pm in Benson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Rackley officiating. A Eulogy was given by Mr. Judd Alden. Special music was rendered by Mrs. Rita McTyre Henderson. Interment followed in Dallas Memory Gardens. Pallbearers were Bruce Harris, Jimmy Upchurch, Jim Pasquale, David Cooper, Steve Jones, and Jud Alden. Honorary escorts were Dr. John Covington, Wylie Cates, and Charles Hardy.
