Mrs. Lewis was born April 14, 1924 in Cobb County, Georgia, daughter of the late Luther M. and Ruth (Stanley) Pittman. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and was employed as a spinner for Coats & Clark Thread Mill. Survivors include two daughters, Yvonne and Terry Griffith of Acworth and Janice and Rodney Hale of Dawson, AL; one son, James Stanley and Peggy Lewis of Gadsden, AL; two sisters, Louise Curtis of Douglasville and Dottie and Ted Woodbury of Melbourne, FL; two brothers, Gene Pittman of Hiram and Billy and Pauline Pittman of Acworth; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Clarence William Lewis. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Crossroads Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Turner and Rev. J.W. Parks officiating. Special music rendered by the Cochran family. Interment followed in Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Shannon Griffith, Johnny Curtis, Bryan Curtis, James Lewis, Justin Griffith, Jeremy Griffith, Stanley Lewis, Lester Curtis and Scott Lewis.
