The Dallas New Era, Dallas, Georgia, Thursday, June 24, 2004
Mrs. J.B. “Shorty” McClung, age 81 of Hiram, Georgia passed away June 12, 2004 
at Douglasville Nursing & Rehab Center.

Shorty was born March 18, 1923 in Douglas County, Georgia, son of the late 
John and Mary Lou (Renfro) Garner. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethany 
Christian Church.

She is survived by her sons, Danny and Dale McClung of Dallas, Rick McClung of 
Hiram and Benny and Pam McClung of Dallas; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-
grandchildren; sister, Rhudene Harrington of Douglasville; brother, Joe Smith 
of Douglasville; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, John and Mary Lou Renfro Garner, she was preceded 
in death by her husband, Mr. J.B. McClung.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at 2:00 pm in the 
chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Minister Rick Dunn officiating. 
Special music was rendered by Jeff Eberhart and Becky Bearden singing Precious 
Memories, Glad Reunion Day and I’ll Meet You in the Morning.

Interment followed in Bethany Christian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were 
Bobby Driskell, Israel Smith, Gabriel Smith, Barry Goughler, Ronnie Driskell 
and Jimmy McClung.
