Sanford The Daily Tribune News Cartersville, Georgia March 08, 1999 Hunt Cemetery Mrs. Texana S. Sanford, 90, of 4039 Baywind Walk, Acworth, died on Monday, March 1, 1999, at WellStar Kennestone Hospital. Mrs. Sanford was born in Paulding County on Feb. 16, 1909, to the late Jacob and Jennie Ruff Sligh. She was of the Methodist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Sanford; her parents, J. A. Sid and Jennie Sligh; six sisters, Lillie Mae Brock, Estelena Thomason, Geneva Rainwater, Mildred Gamel, Angie Fleming and Velma Rateree; and three brothers, Willie Sligh, Johnnie Sligh and Buster Sligh. She is survived by two daughters, MacArthur and Joyce Dickson of Cartersville and Victor and Nancy Castleberry of Acworth; one son, Jack and Nancy Sanford of Dallas, Ga.; a brother, Clarence and Madeline Sligh of Cartersville; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Bertha Sligh of Cartersville and Mrs. Addie Mae Sligh of Dallas, Ga.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 3, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home, Dallas, Ga., with Rev. Green Tibbitts and Rev. Med Roach officiating. Music was provided by Jeff Eberhart, Journeyland, Jimmy Tibbitts and the Tibbitts Family. Interment was at Hunt Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Michael Dickson, Tommy Sanford, Reid Whitney, Ed Redmond, Ken Skinner and Marty Castleberry. Honorary pallbearers were her great-grandsons, Todd Caldwell, Tyler Caldwell, Matthew Skinner and Joseph Skinner.
