WILLARD HARMON VOYLES. Mr. Willard Harmon Voyles, who was 78 years of age, and a resident of Dallas, Paulding County, Georgia, departed this life on Sunday, February 28, 1993. He died in Cobb County, Georgia at the Cobb Genearl Hospital. He had been in poor and declining health for the past several years. He was born on March 31, 1916, in Haralson County, Georgia. He was the son of the late Mr. Ephriam Lloyd Voyles and Mrs. Pearl "Pearlie" (Crabb) Voyles. Prior to his death, the deceased served as Ordained Deacon beginning with his appointment to that position in 1954 thru the time of his death at Pumpkinvine Baptist Church. He had been a member of Pumplinvine Baptist Church since joining on August 9, 1941. He was a retired employee of Global Union. Survivors include: 1) his wife, Mrs. Marie (Butler) Voyles of Dallas, Georgia; 2) his daugther, Mrs. Vickie Golden, wife of Mr. Billy M. Golden of Dallas, Georgia; 3) his son, Mr. Larry D. Voyles, husband of Neilda Voyles of Dallas, Georgia; 4) his son, Mr. Terry L. Voyles, husband of Brenda Voyles of Dallas, Georgia; 5) his son, Mr. W. Don Voyles, husband of Jennie Voyles of Dallas, Georgia; 6) his son, J. Steve Voyles, husband of Brenda Voyles of Dallas, Georgia; 7) his sister, Mrs. Effie Laird, wife of James Laird of Hiram, Paulding County, Georgia; 8) his sister, Mrs. Ruby New, wife of Mr. Robert New of Douglasville, Douglas County, Georgia; 9) his sister, Mrs. Sarah Shipp, wife of Romaine Shipp of Mableton, Georgia; 10) his brother, Mr. Thomas Voyles and wife of Birmingham, Alabama; 11) Mr. Houston Voyles and wife of Smyrna, Georgia; 12) Mr. Lamar Voyles and wife of Powder Springs, Georgia; 13) Sister-in-law, Mrs. Gladys (Williams) Voyles of Birmingham, Alabama. The deceased is also survived by 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a lot of nieces and nephews. Mr. Voyles was preceded in death by: 1) his daugther, Sonya Delores Voyles, who died on September 21, 1940; and 2) his brother, Howell Voyles. Funeral services were held at Pumpkinvine Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 2, 1993, at 2:00 o'clock p.m. The Rev. J. H. Barfield and the Rev. J. E. Wix officiated at the funeral services. Mrs. Donna Clay and Mr. Jeff Dodd provided the music for the services. Burial of the deceased was in the Gann Cemetery. Pallbearers for the deceased were his grandsons: Brian Voyles, Jeff Voyles, Allen Voyles, Mark Voyles, Scott Voyles, Todd Voyles, Chris Voyles and Jason Voyles. The Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements for the deceased. Additional Comments: The mother of the deceased, the said Pearl "Pearlie" Crabb was the daughter of William Burton "Toby" Crabb, deceased, and Sara Josephine (Black) Crabb, deceased, both of Polk County, Georgia.
