I therefore make this my last will and testament hereby revoking all others heretofore made by me. I desire and direct that my body be buried in a decent Christian-like manner, suitable to my circumstances and conditions in life. I desire and direct that all my just debts be paid without delay by my executors herein after appointed as I am unwilling my creditors should be delayed in these rights. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Lydia with whom I have lived in the strictest quietude, lots of land number Eleven Hundred Twenty Five, Eleven Hundred and Seventy Nine, and Eleven Hundred and Eighty in the Eighteenth District of Paulding County containing forty acres each, more or less, with all the rights, members and appurtenances to said lots of land in any wise belonging free from all charge or limitation whatever to her own purpose, use, benefit and behalf forever with full power to dispose of the same at any time previous to her death by will deed as she may think proper. I also give and bequeath to my beloved wife in the same unreserved manner, the farming utensils used on and belonging to said plantation of every description whatever, and two mules and two wagons and four cows and calves. All my stock hogs, all my household and kitchen furniture...on said plantation all without reserve or limitation. The bequest made to my wife are in lieu of her whole Dower. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife for and during her natural life only, my Negro man, John, about forty years olde. I hereby constitute and appoint my beloved wife, Lydia, executrix and my son, Elijah R. Forsyth, executor of this my last will and testament this the 5th Day of August 1852. Signed James Forsythe (his mark) Signed, sealed, declared and published by James Forsyth as his last will and testament in the presence of said testator and in the presence of us...who subscribe our names hereto at his special insistence and request, and of each other this August the 5th, 1852.
