Jewel Long Walton -FORT VALLEY - Jewell Long Walton, age 74, died Sunday, June 
13, 2004. Graveside services will be 3P.M. Wednesday, June 16, 2004 in Oaklawn 
Cemetery with Rev. Charles Carter officiating. -Born in Crawford County, Mrs. 
Walton worked at Carter's Mill and was retired from Blue Bird Wanderlodge and a 
member of Bethel United Methodist Church since 1950. -Survivors include 
husband, Davis Walton of Fort Valley; children, Danny and Marisa Walton [error should be: Mitchell] of 
Lizella; Cheryl and George McCranie of Fort Valley, Ramona and Richard Tolbert 
of Fort Valley; step-children, James C. Walton of Fort Valley and Beverly Hill 
of Biloxi, MI; sisters, Evelyn McGill, Ora Marshall, Carolyn Dampier, Dorothy 
Ambrose and Winson Pressley; seven grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. -
The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 14 at 
Rooks Funeral Home in Fort Valley. -The family may otherwise be contacted at 
the residence. -Rooks Funeral Home in Fort Valley has charge of arrangements.

NOTE: There is a misprint of the last name of Jewel's child, Danny. His last 
name is MITCHELL. Jewel was married to Earl Merritt Mitchell prior to Davis 
Walton.

Family Lineage: Emma Jewel Long was the daughter of John Wesley Long and Annie 
Maude Becham, granddaughter of John Berrian Long and Sarah Elizabeth Long, 
great granddaughter of Alford Long and Anne Hampton, great great granddaughter 
of James Long and Nancy Ann Thomas, great great great granddaughter of James 
Long and Margery Thompson, and great great great great granddaughter of Mathew 
Long and Elizabeth(?).
