Mann Written: May 12 1881 Twelve Month Support for the Minors of Mary C. Mann Georgia, Pickens County By W. R. Allen Ordinary of said county To J. R. Howell, Caleb Jones, B. H. Simmons, B. F. Dorsey and J. M. Dorsey These are ____ ______ you or any three of you to appraise the goods and chattels lands and tenements of the late Mary C. Mann in dollars and cents so far as the same shall be forwarded to you by Ed Lenning guardian of the said minor heirs of said Mary C. Mann he being bound to forward to you for appraisement all and singular all the goods and chattels lands and tenements of the said deceased you having first taken an oath before some proper person well and truly ___ ____ a certificare of which oath you are required to make an inventory of all the property appraised and its value of the appraised articles and after taking into consideration the circumstances of the minor children if the amount does not exceed five hundred dollars you may set apart the whole or a sufficient amoutn as you in your judgement think proper for a term of twelve month support for the rise of said minor children and return the same by any three of you or more together with warrent within the rime fore___ by law. In testimony whereof I havae herein set my hand and seal May the 12th 1881. W. R. Dorsey Appraisers Georgia, Pickens County May the 12th 1881. Inventory and apprais Bill of real and personal propery of the estate of Mary C. Mann 40 acres of land at $4 as per acre of lot No. 268 or ________ $160.00 Household & kitchen furniture 60.00 1 cow [amount unreadable] 4 head hogs [amount unreadable] 40 lbs. meat 5.00 6 chickens 1.00 Lard .50 Farming tools 3.00 Soap 3.00 Total $264.50 We the undersigned appointed appraisers of the Ordinary to apprais the real and personal estate of Mary C. Mann, Deceased and also to set apart a sufficiency for the minor heirs of Mary C. Mann to-wit: Nancy E.-Amanda E. - and John A. Mann under oath do hereby certify that we have appraised the whole of said estate as appears from the above appraise bill at the sum of $264.50 and we further certify that after allowing the guardian of said minors to pay all just debts against same deceased then the remainder of said estate as set forth in the apprais bill for a twelve months support for said minor children.
