This Indenture made this 26th day of February in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and ninety four between E. McLeod of the county of Pickens of the first part and William McLeod of the County of Pickens of the second part. Witnesseth, that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred Dollars, in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, has granted, bargained, sold and conveyed, and by these presents does grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Pickens said State in the 24th district and 2nd section, being all of land lot (No. 121) one hundred and twenty one and sixty acres in the northeast corner of land lot no. 132 containing in the aggregate two hundred and twenty acres more less. To have and to hold the said bargained premises, together with all and singular the rights, members and appurtenances thereof to the same being, belonging or in anywise appertaining to the only proper use, benefit and behoof of him the said party of the second part, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns in Fee Simple. And the said party of the first part his heirs, executors and administrators the said bargained premises unto the said party of the second part, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns against said party of the first part, his heirs, executor, and administrators, and all and every other person or persons shall and will warrant and forever defend by virtue of these presents. In Witness whereof, the said party of the first part has hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal, the day and year first above written. O Jones CSC Additional Comments: Recorded in Book J, pg. 16 Pickens Co. Superior Court Records Deeds & Mortgages Ebenezer, b. 1802-1809 in North Carolina, was the father of William McLeod b. January 5, 1854. The family moved from Fannin Co., Georgia to Pickens Co., Georgia about 1874. It is thought that Ebenezer died between 1895 & 1900.
