All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Gwen Brooks jhngwn@tds.net September 27, 2003, 11:34 am LL 101(all),299(part)/Dist. 24 Written: November 7 1866 Recorded: August 29 1867 Georgia, Gordan County, This indenture made this the seventh day of November, eighteen hundred and sixty-six between George Pack of the county of Gordon & State of Georgia and Lettes & Grammell of the county and State aforesaid of the second part which that the said George Pack for and in consideration of the sum of Ten dollars then in hand paid by the said Lettes & Grammell as securing a note hereinafter described has granted sold ? & conveyed & by these presents doth grant sell ? & convey into the said Lettes & Grammel their heirs and assigns the following Lot & part of Lot of Land situate lying & being in the twenty fourth district as Lot number one hundred and one & fifty acres of Lot number Two hundred and ninety-nine lying joining Co. Lot number one hundred & one in said county, Ga. To have and to hold said lot and part of lot of Land to the said Lettes & Grammell their heirs executors & administrators & assigns forever in fee simple & the said George Pack will & his heirs, executors & administrators shall to aforesaid granted promises to the said Lettes & Grammell their heirs, executors, administrators & assigns for ? and defined by (?witness?) of these presents provided, must ? that if the said George Pack his heirs, executors, or administrators shall (?pay?) unto the said Lettes & Grammell their heirs, executors, administrations or assigns the amount of a certain promissory note made by the said George Pack payable to the said Lette & Grammel or bearer bearing (?now?) date with this presents & one date after date for the sum of one hundred dollars together with all legal interest ??be due upon the same and all expenses which may be incurred by the said Lettes & Trammell in the collections of the same there as will this deed to above described note to be ? void, otherwise to remain in full force. JP, George Pack (his mark) Recorded Aug. 29, 1867 Additional Comments: Pickens Co., Georgia Land Deeds & Mortgages Bk C, pg. 124 It is unknown if this is George Marion Pack, Sr. or Jr. The Pack family owned land including the mentioned lots that is at the current Pickens Co./Gordon Co. lines. George Pack Sr. was living in Pickens Co. in 1864 and George Pack Jr. was a prisoner of war in 1864.
