Jasper, Ga., March 15- N. C. McClain, of Jasper, died yesterday at his home and was buried in the family cemetery. Mr. McClain would have been 85 years of age if he had survived until May of this year. He was a good citizen and a confederate soldier. He served as sheriff of Pickens county in reconstruction days. Mr. McClain was a member of the Methodist church and an Odd Fellow. He leaves a family of four children, his sons, Dr. M. C. McClain, Marble Hill, Ga.; William McClain, Tate, Ga.; R. L. McClain, Jasper, Ga.; one daughter, Mrs. A. W. Davis, of Jasper. His wife, two daughters and one son preceded him to the grave.
